AWS Marketplace billing guide

Pixop usage purchased through AWS Marketplace is billed in Pixop Credits. Pixop Credits are the single AWS Marketplace usage unit for Pixop usage, including:

• video processing filters
• encoding
• storage
• downloads

In the public AWS Marketplace offer, 1 Pixop Credit is priced at USD 0.001.

If your organization accepted a private offer, your effective price per Pixop Credit may be different. Private-offer pricing is determined by the AWS Marketplace offer accepted by your AWS account.

Pixop calculates the number of credits consumed by your usage and reports metered credit usage to AWS Marketplace for billing.

Summary

Failed jobs are not metered as completed processing usage.

Pixop Credits and AWS Marketplace offers

AWS Marketplace bills Pixop usage using the Pixop Credits dimension.

The amount billed by AWS Marketplace is based on:

metered Pixop Credits × applicable AWS Marketplace price per Pixop Credit

For the public AWS Marketplace offer:

1 Pixop Credit = USD 0.001

For private offers, the price per Pixop Credit may be different.

The credit rates on this page describe how Pixop converts product usage into Pixop Credits. AWS Marketplace determines the billed amount based on the applicable public offer or private offer accepted by your AWS account.

Discounts

Volume discounts and lifetime loyalty bonuses available under direct Pixop billing do not apply to AWS Marketplace-billed teams.

For AWS Marketplace-billed teams, discounts are handled through the applicable AWS Marketplace public offer or private offer by changing the price per Pixop Credit.

Pixop wallet credits are not used to pay for AWS Marketplace-billed usage.

Subscription status and stored video data

An active linked AWS Marketplace subscription is required to upload, download, process, and store video data in Pixop.

If the AWS Marketplace subscription is cancelled, unsubscribed, expires, or is no longer linked to the team, Pixop may disable upload, download, processing, and access to stored video data for the affected team.

Because storage and downloads are billed through AWS Marketplace, Pixop does not continue providing storage or download access for teams without an active linked subscription.

Pixop schedules stored video files for deletion approximately 30 minutes after the subscription becomes inactive. If a valid AWS Marketplace subscription is linked again before deletion occurs, Pixop may cancel the scheduled deletion.

After deletion, video source files, clips, and output files may no longer be recoverable.

This deletion applies to video source files, clips, and output files stored by Pixop. Account, team, billing, audit, support, and compliance records may be retained as required for security, billing, tax, dispute, legal, and compliance purposes.

AWS cost allocation tag

AWS Marketplace can expose cost allocation tags for Marketplace software usage. Buyers can activate these tags in AWS Billing and Cost Management and use them to analyze Marketplace costs in AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, AWS Budgets, or other cost analysis tools.

For Pixop usage billed through AWS Marketplace, the following AWS Marketplace cost allocation tag can be used to identify costs by Pixop billable product or operation name:

After the buyer activates this tag, AWS billing tools can use it to group or filter AWS Marketplace charges by Pixop product or operation name.

The tag may not appear immediately. AWS Marketplace vendor-metered tags appear in the buyer's AWS Billing console after the buyer starts using the AWS Marketplace product and Pixop sends metering records to AWS Marketplace.

How gigapixels are calculated

For processing and encoding, usage is measured in output gigapixels.

Gigapixels are calculated per billable usage item, such as an individual filter or encoder. Each billable usage item uses the output resolution and output frame count for that item:

gigapixels = output width × output height × output frame count / 1,000,000,000

This means that different filters or encoders in the same job may be billed using different gigapixel amounts if they change the video resolution or frame count.

For example, if one filter outputs 1920×1080 and a later filter outputs 3840×2160, those two billable usage items are calculated using their own output resolutions.

Pixop rounds billable gigapixels down to a whole number for each billable usage item, with a minimum of 1 billable gigapixel:

billable gigapixels = max(1, floor(output gigapixels))

For example, a 10-second 1920×1080 output video at 25 fps contains:

1920 × 1080 × 250 / 1,000,000,000 = 0.5184 gigapixels

Because billable gigapixels are rounded down with a minimum of 1, this is billed as:

1 billable gigapixel

A 60-second 3840×2160 output video at 25 fps contains:

3840 × 2160 × 1500 / 1,000,000,000 = 12.4416 gigapixels

This is billed as:

12 billable gigapixels

If multiple filters or encoders are applied, Pixop calculates credit usage separately for each billable usage item using the applicable credit rate.

How Pixop Credits are rounded

AWS Marketplace usage is reported in whole Pixop Credits.

Pixop calculates and rounds credits per billable usage item. A billable usage item is an individual metered item such as a filter, encoder, storage usage item, or download usage item.

This allows Pixop to associate usage with the relevant AWS usage allocation tags before reporting usage to AWS Marketplace.

When a calculated credit amount contains fractional credits, Pixop rounds credits using round half up:

10.4 credits → 10 credits
10.5 credits → 11 credits
10.6 credits → 11 credits

For example, if one billable usage item calculates to 76.5 credits, it is rounded to:

If another billable usage item calculates to 12.4 credits, it is rounded to:

12 Pixop Credits

The rounded credits for billable usage items are then included in the metered usage reported to AWS Marketplace.

Processing filter pricing

Processing filter usage is calculated in Pixop Credits per billable output gigapixel.

Encoder pricing

Encoder usage is calculated in Pixop Credits per billable output gigapixel.

Storage pricing

Storage usage is calculated in Pixop Credits per GB per month.

Storage is checked daily and metered once per day.

Daily storage credits are prorated based on the number of days in the month:

daily storage credits = stored GB × monthly credit rate ÷ days in the month

For example, storing 100 GB for one day in a 30-day month is calculated as:

100 × 23 ÷ 30 = 76.6667 credits

Using round half up, this becomes:

In a 31-day month, storing 100 GB for one day is calculated as:

100 × 23 ÷ 31 = 74.1935 credits

Using round half up, this becomes:

74 Pixop Credits

Storage usage may appear in AWS Marketplace billing after the daily storage metering cycle has completed.

Download pricing

Download usage is calculated in Pixop Credits per downloaded GB.

Download usage is detected from download logs and checked hourly.

Detected download usage is converted to Pixop Credits and metered in a subsequent hourly cycle.

For example, downloading 12.5 GB is calculated as:

12.5 × 90 = 1125 Pixop Credits

Download usage may not appear in AWS Marketplace billing immediately after the download occurs.

When usage is metered

Pixop reports AWS Marketplace usage after the usage has been measured, calculated, and aggregated.

Processing and encoding

Processing and encoding usage is metered only after a job completes successfully.

Pixop does not meter failed jobs as completed processing usage.

After a job completes successfully, Pixop calculates the Pixop Credits consumed by the completed billable operations and reports the usage to AWS Marketplace in an hourly metering cycle.

Because usage is reported after successful completion, processing activity may appear in AWS Marketplace billing after the job has completed rather than when the job was started.

Downloads

Download usage is detected from download logs and checked hourly.

Detected download usage is converted to Pixop Credits and reported to AWS Marketplace in a subsequent hourly metering cycle.

Storage

Storage usage is checked daily.

Pixop calculates the storage used by the team and reports the corresponding Pixop Credits once per day.

Storage is prorated daily based on the number of days in the month.

Delayed reporting, retries, and reconciliation

AWS Marketplace usage may not appear immediately after activity occurs.

Pixop batches usage, retries failed reporting attempts, and performs reconciliation to help ensure that reported usage is complete and accurate.

As a result, AWS Marketplace billing records may appear later than the activity that generated the usage.

Refunds and support

Refund requests are reviewed by Pixop on a case-by-case basis.

To request a refund for Pixop software charges billed through AWS Marketplace, contact:

• your AWS account ID
• product or subscription details
• invoice or charge details, if available
• the reason for the request
• relevant Pixop job details, if applicable

Pixop may approve a full or partial refund or billing adjustment for service malfunction, erroneous charges, duplicate charges, unexpected processing results, or other reasonable customer support cases.

Approved refunds or billing adjustments apply only to Pixop software charges billed through AWS Marketplace and are processed according to AWS Marketplace processes and policies.

To help control costs and validate settings before processing large files, Pixop recommends testing processing settings on a short representative clip before processing a full video.
